We are continuing our success with inspiring speakers and member involvement. This month we met our new chapter president and were inspired by Air Force Colonel, Michele Boyko!
Jacquelyne Nichols
We heard from our new WAI Land of Enchantment chapter President. Jacquelyne introduced herself and told us how she first became interested in aviation, and about her journey as a pilot in the United States Marine Corps.
Col Michele Boyko
Col. Michele “Mickey” Boyko, United States Air Force Reserves, is the Emergency Preparedness Liaison Officer to the state of New Mexico. During our meeting, she shared her wisdom with us about why being good at your chosen profession is more important than being the first "lady" at anything.
At Kirtland AFB, Col. Boyko advises federal, state and civil emergency management leadership regarding New Mexico’s civil disaster response capability. She holds a Navigator rating and served as a Weapons System Officer on the B-1B bomber aircraft. In 2011, she left Active Duty for civilian and Air Force Reserve service, teaching flight safety and aircraft mishap investigation, and serving in the Air Force Safety Center’s Flight Safety Division as an Aviation Safety Officer.
